If you go into the woods...

I had to have an excuse to show off my latest vintage hat. (It has been long overdue for those that follow me on twitter.) The unique feature of this hat is that it has no crown, so no hat hair. I wore it with a vintage Christian Dior headscarf, I was channeling the 1930's Riveria look. I have say I got a few strange looks from some of the joggers, but I had been longing to take a picture in this location for a while. Stay tuned for up coming posts on Magdalena Velevska and highlights from this years Outskirts Festival...

Outfit: Vintage hat, Vintage Christian Dior scarf, Industry Mens Shirt (worn as a wrap shirt), 1980's Belt, Mela Purdie, Shoes from David Jones.

Popsicle 2011...More delightful surprises in every store...

This year rather than one pop-up store Popsicle has spread all over Northbridge! Popsicle features local designers wares in 11 different locations. This years standouts include Matt Biocich from Made of Awesome Collective at Tu, White Square at The Butcher Shop, Enid Twiglet at Beans & Bunches, Alister Yiap at Scraps and Petals in Disarray at William Topp.

I see you! By Matt Biocich

I spy By Matt Biocich
Matt Biocich from Made of Awesome Collective is a talented photographer and artist. I was surprised to find that I was immediately drawn to his pieces without knowing they were by the same artist. They have a flirty cheekiness about them that I adore.

Paper Boat By White Square

By White Square
What can I say about White Square, in a previous post I have already declared my love for this quirky jewellery label. More than once I have been complemented while wearing one of my White Square brooches. I now own four pieces and I suspect I will not stop there.

Beans & Bunches

Enid Twiglet @ Beans & Bunches
The lovely label Enid Twiglet has grown so much since I discovered it at a vintage markets in Fremantle.  Enid has branched out into bags and t-shirts. But it is her hand embroidered pieces that I covert the most. The detail on each piece is exquisite and carefully crafted with love.

Alister Yiap's geometrical designs are extremely wearable. Available at Scraps for Popsicle, his unique designs can also be found at Behind the Monkey, Beaufort St.

Petals in Disarray

Petals in Disarray

Petals in Disarray
Designer Meg describes Petals in Disarray as day wear with a twist. Mixing a blend of print with a soft pallet of greys and pinks. Her organic look with an easy laid back style will appeal to those who like to play with different silhouettes. Check out her designs up stairs at William Topp.

Billie & Rose Parade & Afters Party...

The Kills song 'The Future Starts Slow' provided a thumping drum beat to open the Billie & Rose parade 'Open Road', as the models strutted their stuff down the catwalk. 'Open Road' references 70's America with a relaxed rocker feel. Featuring bold colours mixed with earthy hues. Wide brim felt hats and acubra's were a stand out on the night!

The old GPO building was the perfect venue for a parade that showed off current trends and styling by Pippa from Billie & Rose. Labels included in the show were Lonely Hearts, Modern Amusement, Alice McCall, Antipodium, Bec & Bridge and more.

Annie, Meghan & Lexie having a fabulous time at the Billie & Rose afters... love you girls!

I managed to get my hands on an invite to the afters party held in their King St store Basement. It had a warehouse space feel and was decked out in white sheets, with candles in jam jars. Guests enjoyed music styled by DJ Dorcia's Yon (playing at Parklife this Sunday) and wine provided by Bunkers Margaret River. Spotted on the night was up and coming local designer Daniella Caputi.

Sportsgirls Love Antipodium...

Hat by Sportsgirl, Shorts by Antipodium
In my quest to spread the word about Antipodium for Sportsgirl I thought what better way to start than outside the  Antipodium office in Fremantle. Antipodium is a much loved label created by Aussie trio Geoffrey Finch, Fenella and Ashe Peacock. Since the labels launch in 2006 it has grown into an international sensation and is worn by the likes of it girl Alexia Chung.

The Antipodium range for Sportsgirl launched online this Monday and hits selective stores on September 12.

(I have created the logo pictured above, it is not an official Sportsgirl logo.)

Vintage Glamourpuss...

I have been very busy the last few weeks working on some new projects. Hopefully I can share some of them soon! In the meantime here are some photo's I had taken recently by fabulous local photographer, P.J.

As you may have already gathered I am absolutely in love with vintage glamour at the moment. Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardiner, all the sirens of the silver screen have inspired my recent looks. Red lipstick and liquid eyeliner have become my staple. I know what your thinking, but I really do wear them everyday (well almost!).

Outfit 1: Silk camisole, vintage leather skirt from Redthreads Fremantle and shoes Sachi.
