Pushing up daisies...

Today was a lovely warm day. It has been the first time I have been able to wear a sleeveless top and not freeze! Lately I have been wearing too much black and coupled with the warm weather I had the perfect excuse to wear this bright top from Sportsgirl.

At home we have been doing a little gardening, I just couldn't resist including these beautiful daisies in my photos.

Outfit: Top from Sportsgirl, Sass & Bide jeans from David Jones and necklace label unknown.

Hat Affair Loves...Lilly Loves Tea

Lilly Loves Tea, is the latest boutique to grace Bayview Tce, Claremont. A re-incarnation of the missed One Teaspoon with Friends, it opened this month with a fabulous evening of cupcakes and champagne. The models mingled with the VIPs sipping tea and munching on the delicate cupcakes from Little Miss Cupcake. Not only did these delectable delights look beautiful they were a joy to eat, so moist and moreish I couldn't help it, I just had to have two!

Lilly Loves Tea stocks an array of quirky unique labels including Style Stalker, One Teaspoon, Something Else, Jimmy Lee House and House of Harlow. Each VIP left the night with a goodie bag full of tea from T2, cosmetics from Savoir Faire and a gift voucher for Maurice Mead, Claremont.

This week I popped in to check out the latest arrivals and picked up the fierce House of Harlow ring pictured below!

Hat Affair Loves...Antipodium for Sportsgirl...

I have been an Antipodium lover for several years. Every piece I've owned has been worn till they are little more than rags. Yes, I am guilty of wearing the same thing season after season, but Antipodium garments are just so wearable that you don't want to put on anything else!

Geoffrey Finch of Antipodium
In a new collaboration with high street retailer Sportsgirl, designer Geoffrey Finch has created an amazing collection with all the things that you have come to love from Antipodium. Sportsgirl has asked the blogging world to shout it out loud that Sportsgirls like Antipodium, but I put it to you that Sportsgirls love Antipodium and once you own a piece there is no going back!

Looking back at the noughties...part 6

'Dora' Autumn/Winter 2006 'Love Lucy', Modeled by Hannah Fell

'My first hat'

2005 my final year at Tafe and the class has halved again we are now just 17 girls and 2 guys. Lucky for me most of my friends survived the cut! It was an amazing and stressful year. It saw my designs featured in the paper and I finally got to create my first collection for the catwalk.

I still love elements of my first collection and was excited when I saw a very similar dress to my navy satin dress 'Dora' in Scanland & Theodore the following season. I very much doubt they even saw my dress, but for me it meant I was on trend and that my fashion forecasting had paid off.

It was also the year I discovered millinery and made my first hat (As pictured above).

March 2005 and Misha Barton is the girl of the moment, Scarlet Johansson has come into her own and Sienna Miller is the talk of the town with her easy laid back chic.

Macarons are coveted by the fashion elite for their soft pastel sweetness. I recommend Choux Cafe in Swanbourne for French Pastry Chef Emmanuel Mollois' delectable delights. His Lychee Macaroon has to be the ultimate taste sensation.

The film 'Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow' has just been released with the fabulous 30's inspired costumes by Stella McCartney. It is a homage to the film noir and is stylistically beautiful, but where it falls short is the lack of well scripted dialogue. The film relies too heavily on the background graphics, famous cast (Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow & Angelina Jolie) and costumes. Having said that it is worth a watch for the style alone. It is only a pity that it wasn't taken that one step further, it could have been a truly great piece of cinema.

The trends of  the season are floral, gold, easy chic, tribal, glitz and glam. The swinging sixies get a nod thanks to Sienna Miller in 'Factory Girl' a bio-pic on Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick.

Memorable moments from 2005...

Who could forget when Dries Van Noten sent his models down a chandelier-lit dinner table, set for 500 guests or Victor & Rolfs Flower Bomb inspired show complete with ribbons and organza bags encasing the models heads.

In love with Lanvin...

I know Lanvin is a French label and I blog about Australian fashion, but on this occasion I’m going to make an exception.

My love for Lanvin started when I was at Fashion College and I saw the exquisite illustrations of her beautiful hats. I have now fallen in love all over again with the designs by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. This collection has been exquisitely draped and brings together the bold new block colours for the season.

You may remember my lamentations at the lack of colour from the previous seasons. Imagine my joy at the bright, bold, clashing colours present in the Spring/Summer 11/12 collections. I can't wait to sample some of the many delights already on offer.
