The affair continues.....

I designed this hat with the hunt in mind. I liked the big hair nets that they use to wear. I still haven't worn it which is a shame. mmm, maybe at a costume party....
As a child to wear a hat was considered uncool. However as I got older I began to see them more as a way of making a statement. Hat's weren't just a way of keeping the sun off, they were a work of art, beautifully crafted, made to be worn.

In Australia the Melbourne cup racing carnival is the only time when hat's can be seen on mass and even then it's only at the track. This comes only once a year.

I thought what a waste to have these beautiful hat's sitting in boxes. So I began to wear my hat's out to night clubs, fashion shows and out shopping. Wherever I went they seemed to attract attention, some complementary and others looked at me, eye brows raised like "what on earth was she thinking!?"

I didn't care because regardless of what others might think, I love my hats and I love wearing them even more!

How my affair began

This is the first hat I made. I used a cloche modeled by Clara Bow circa 1920's as my inspiration. The head stand christened Lucinda was actually made for wigs, but I use her to make my hats.
